Is anyone familiar with swapping out a manual steering box for a power steering box? Im wondering if they have the same bolt pattern ?

No I don’t think they are the same bolt pattern. The boxes are cast with a different size and design. The Gemmer box has ears on it for bolts. The Ross box is usually held on with a collar and 2 large bolts around the pitman shaft. You will have to drill new holes or fab up an adapter plate to bolt up the power box. You may get lucky with the later 359 like you have with the bolt holes being dual drilled sometimes. The older frames like mine have to be re-drilled and the steering column was solid down to the box and shaft is part of it.
Is the box behind the axle or way up in front forward of the axle? I have seen both for power and manual however the forward box was the majority for p/s on the later 359’s.
Ross and Gemmer merged in the 60’s but built their own designs and had their own specs. They later got bought out by TRW in the 80’s or 90’s.
Pete was big on Ross and Kw was big on Gemmer but you can find a Ross or Gemmer on any Paccar product.

    062 Thanks this.
