We have a 2000 Pete 379 with a c-15 cat 6nz series and while running down the road or sitting still with the cruise set, it will shutt off on it's own. We have tried a wiggle test & even timed it. There doesn't seem to be any consistency to this fault. No engine codes and cruise will turn off when prompted via switch, clutch or brake pedal. I'm all ears, any ideas?

Just a snafu... mine does the same on occasion. My dealer said it may take 1 hour to fix or 10 hours... I put up with it and lately it's been trouble free.

check all your grounds, peterbilt is a ground based system so any time you have a problem like this there is a good chance it is a ground or a broken wire

Check clutch switch and brake light switch for adequate freeplay?

Not sure how they interface it with the PCM....

I usually just shut mine off for some time and when I turn it on it works fine again.

make sure your floormmat or nothing else gets stuck under brake pedal, this will disengage the cruise control just like if you hit the brake pedal or clutch

Agreed, pedal adjustment on the switch..Try putting foot under pedal going down road.
My cruise would shut off if i hit a bump..couldnt figure out why until i tried that.
finally figured it out and had pedal/switch adjusted..fixed it.
    Good luck.

Last time mine did that it was a bad trailer ground momentarily turning the brake lights on.

Clutch switch most likely place. It is a micro switch which is very sensitive. It is switched on/off any time you are in cruise or idling the engines ECM thinks you pressed the clutch in and will kick out of cruise or idle. Located undercab where clutch pedal goes through floor.
