Was I ripped? They changed air, fuel, oil and a/c filters, all fittings greased, topped off all cases and charged me $388.31 for a PM. Oh yeah, 3.38 hours of labor @ $55.00 an hour. :biggrin_25513:
Good thing they only charged me 8.99 a gallon for the Exxon/Mobil Semi Syn.

You got ripped big-time. If I were an O/O, I'd drop by that self-service place by the Flying-J on the west side of Indianapolis and do all this myself when it needed to be done. Well, actually.......it HAS been a while. That place may have closed down since 2002, the last year I drove through there in 18.

You know the place I'm talking about, right?

No, cause I mainly travel East Coast. Sad thing is...this was done at the shop that I am leased on to. Some discount.

Well the labor rate was cheap The going rate around here is $75.00
As to the servicing on the truck it depends on how much oil they had to use to top off the cases, how many air filters you have, air filters run between $45.00 and $100 bucks at the parts store depending on type and brand. That was a decent price on the oil.
It sounds high, but then we don't have all the facts

They give a discount on Labor and the oil is half price.

Seems just a tad high, but not by a whole lot. Did that include sales tax on the parts and oil?

If you go to Speedco for your service it can cost you around $200 if you use fleetguard filters.

Add in your air filter thats an easy $50 by itself if not more, and the AC work. I doubt you got screwed.

This is why I'd NEVER be an O/O unless I could afford my truck on my OWN lease and do most of the mediocre stuff (change oil, filters, grease, etc) myself. It'd just way too expensive to pay someone to do everything.

Uh...I didn't have any A/C work. It was a cabin Air Filter that was $12. The air filter was $36. I got rapped on Labor....most places, Petro Lube, Speedco, etc, don't charge additional labor above and beyond the quoted price.

I am fully qualified and capable of doing EVERYTHING on my truck, I just didn't have a big enough drain pan. I got everything setup now for my next PM. I never would have had them do it if I knew it was that much, I thought it was going to be around $175-$190 tops. They preached on how much of a deal they give their O/O's. I shoulda known better then to trust somebody other than my dog.
