Pete definitely much more comfortable behind the steering wheel and has more leg room. Specifically around the gas and brake pedal, you can stretch your leg much more then with KW. In KW, it's the #### firewall behind those 2 pedals that gets on the way. Very uncomfortable. That's a big plus of Pete's.

Is this a QC thing? I know guys are building them in NB and NS. In fact a salesman from Wajax told me this winter that he had just sold a new Detroit 60 Series drop in that was going ito be put in a new glider.

To the OP, we have a 1998 W900L and a 2004 379, and they're both tighter and nicer to drive than any of the 2005-2010 Western Stars and Freightliners. IMO, you can't go wrong with Paccar.

I know it's QC, ON, SK, AB and BC. Theoretically you can purchase a glider from Paccar or Freightliner, but it won't leave the dealership without registration. The problem is registering the new truck chassis with older engine in combination as a new truck. I heard rumours, that maybe you can register it same year as your drop in motor (02-04). Otherwise I would have long gone with the glider.

Maybe in a unibilt. I feel like u sit up more in a W9 vs a 389. I feel like I look down the hood in a kw whereas I look out across it in a Pete. Just My opinion. I guess different seat/windshield configurations could change that though

Well, decided to go with Pete. The W900 is very nice with more of a office atmosphere so to speak but is a little heavier so I decided to go with two Pete's. 60 Series 12.7 13sp. Rears I haven't decided on. Any suggestions? I like a good puller but I'm happy at 65-68 MPH all day.

If your going to run tall 24.5 rubber and a rtlo 13. With a Detroit. And you said you like to do 65-68 mph all day. I would do 3.70 or 3.90. That would still give you some speed and pull really well in the hills. But this just me.
Some guys will come on here and tell you to run 2.64 or something like that then just run your tranny in direct. I'm not one of them thou. If you want a puller and still cruise nicely at 1500ish I'd do 3.90. If it was a cat 3.70. Tall 24.5 of course.

I have 3.90 in my truck with Detroit 12.7 non-egr .. 18 double over, 24.5 tall. 1500 rpm will get you right at cruising speed, top speed will be 80-85 if you want to make it go that fast ... not sure if something is wrong with my jake brake, it just makes a lot of noise, hardly any slowing force ... I can only do about 12 mph down the eastbound mountains of I-90 through WA, ID, MT ... and I am all the way down to about 3rd gear... I will not put bigger gears in this truck because of this. 3.90 works well for me.

Never managed to get mine above 75. I rather race with someone than taking pace by myself.

    I have a 12.7 series 60 500hp with 13spd and 3.58's on lp 22.5's. It's the same as 3.90's on tall 24.5's. 68mph is 1500rpm right in the sweet spot!
