Yeah, all COL has increased nationwide, including Nevada. Rent has increased also. Might buy a cheap RV or travel trailer and get by cheaper in a campsite or RV park.
Plenty of choices of RV parks in Las Vegas, Henderson, Reno.
If you do that, make sure the RV or trailer is less than 10 yrs. old.

Up until yesterday I worked for KAG slinging gas in the Cinci metro area.
I spoke to CLI drivers at the rack. The claims are legit.
BUT......don't relocate and then expect to get hired on.
They are EXTREMELY picky about who they hire, because in the current driver market they can be.
They ask for your ticket/accident history for the last TEN years.
I have an at-fault in my pov from 7 years ago, and that knocked me outta contention.
The CLI driver I spoke to said , "Be persistent, and make sure your mileage is verifiable. And if you DO get hired, be willing to make the jump. They're gonna call ya on a Thursday and say report for training Monday. They don't wanna hear about you having to give two weeks notice. They're a top shelf outfit and they KNOW it."
They are the only outfit I'd even CONSIDER driving gas again for, and it's unlikely I ever will.Zonno Thanks this. -
You can purchase an RV ranch lot that's one hour from Las Vegas. The company sells 1 or 2 acre RV ranch lots.
This is in reference to Post #21
I'm not connected to this company in any way. This information is from a brochure I received in the mail. I just kept it for future reference.

Sorry for commenting on an old post, but I'll be moving to Scranton, PA and they're advertising a local petroleum transport position which I'm going to apply too. I have 2 years 6 months of a clean record, no tickets or DOT infractions, driving a dry van OTR and I have every endorsement except HAZMAT, which I passed the online test, background check and I'm taking the state endorsement test next week. Do you have any tips or recommendations when applying or any advice on what the company focuses on? I just want to be prepared.Last edited by a moderator: Oct 21, 2024

Don't apply til you have the hazmat, they will tell you reapply once you have it. You are a little low on experience they want but a clean record will help. You will need to verify your miles of experience. No tanker experience is not an issue. It can be a long slow process but worth it if you can get in. I'll pm you with more.BillyBobFrank Thanks this.

If Sheetz sets you up with the road test are you hired? Just curious they scheduled me one.
-
It makes sense that you'd be hired pending a road test. Did they give you any paperwork?
-
No, they did not I took it today. He made a joke and shook my hand and said HR would be in touch with me soon. I feel like I got it but not 100% sure.Zonno and BillyBobFrank Thank this.
