Guys, someone please help here.
I had to get a new registration (i'll leave it at that).. so I had my temporary permit taped on my right windshield. I just got pulled into a scale and they did a level 1 on me. They found only one violation... and it was 393.60(e).
393.60(e) - View through windshield is obstructed - temporary registration posted in right side windshield creating view obstruction.
This is unbelievable.... it wasnt obstructing though. I told the DOT inspector.. what should i do? he says, it should be in my truck folder (i already have one).. and that nothing should be on the windshield. So now, i'm more prone to being stopped because i have no plate or temporary permit on my truck taped up.
Just really sucks...confused...PISSED. One violation away from passing a level 1 and getting a sticker.
393.60(e) Violation - What..

if the permit was in the area that the windshield wipers sweep, you are in violation. It is very clear in the regulations.
(e) Prohibition on obstructions to the driver's field of view—
(1) Devices mounted at the top of the windshield. Antennas, transponders, and similar devices must not be mounted more than 152 mm (6 inches) below the upper edge of the windshield. These devices must be located outside the area swept by the windshield wipers, and outside the driver's sight lines to the road and highway signs and signals.
(2) Decals and stickers mounted on the windshield. Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) inspection decals, and stickers and/or decals required under Federal or State laws may be placed at the bottom or sides of the windshield provided such decals or stickers do not extend more than 115 mm (41/2 inches) from the bottom of the windshield and are located outside the area swept by the windshield wipers, and outside the driver's sight lines to the road and highway signs or signals.x1Heavy and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
