Remember, that $4,800 is gross revenue, not money in your pocket. There is a lot of expenses to come out of that $4,800 before you get to keep any of it and fuel is not the only expense.
BTW, those companies that hire trainees have much lower standards than LS. Much lower! As you have found out, LS is not easy to get on, with.

And I know that's not going to be every week, some will be better, and some worse. Really I won't know until I try. I can't go by your word, or my friends word, or anybody for that matter, because everyone has their own way of operating and a different set of bills to pay. We all need to start somewhere in life. I'm not going to change companies just so I can "drive a sleeper" unless I can find a decent company in the northeast, that pays well, and work mon-fri. Now let me say this so you guys don't chew my ### out, I know owning your own truck your not going to be home every week and I'm fine with that because its MY truck and MY ways of doing things, working for a company OTR, it's their ways and their routes and home time when they let you. That's why for a company, I'm set where I am and don't want to go else where because I most likely will not find a regional gig doing mon-fri making good money

Yep, never take any one person's word as gospel. Keep it in mind and compare it to others, for reference. Then make your own best decisions.
danwantstodrive Thanks this. -

Driving in Nyc does not prepare you at all for 'the cabbage downgrade" at all.Yes it should count for some previous exp but it is not a thorough preparation for a otr position..
