I used to deliver fuel to all those little gas stations in SF. SF ain't so bad.
A great tip for dealing with SF is to look at the top of the hill for scrapes. If there's scrapes your trailer may not make it.
I always did local so for me it was Oakland, East Palo Alto, Richmond and Oakland. Did I mention I don't like Oakland.
I once and only once tried to turn on Broadway by the clubs on a Saturday night. Had drunk half naked people going over and under my dolly. Fun times.
4 places you do not want to deal with

Used to do that when i was doing food service in NYC. 3 24-30 hour team runs a week. I was basically down there 6 days a week. Get home friday around 3-6pm depending on traffic and head back out sun at 5pm.
The ride down wasn't half bad leaving Binghamton NY and driving 190 miles. Get there around 8-830 most days and peddle 8/9 stops. 9 stops on 2 runs. Start on 165th and Broadway Wendy's and work my way down to 34th street right on the corner of the Empire St BLDG. Took a 2-3hr nap at 48th & 6 Rockefeller Center. (The fox news building we delivered to. Pretty cool. Ran into Neil Cavuto and the black guy on fox business. Forget his name) + quite a few hotties running around fox news building.
Now it's 7am and we have to fight our way over the 59th st bridge over to 495 to the Van wyck, heading to JFK airport service plaza. Usually took 2 hrs fighting the whole way over. 1030 usually getting done. Do 2 more stores, a Popeyes on flushing and a Wendy's on the Buckner service road after fighting my way back across the white stone.
On the way home depending on traffic either fight my way across the cross bronx, the go around (278) or head up 95 across the tap and run 17 back to Binghamton. Both of you work the whole time. It's brutal especially if your the one driving back. We'd usually switch out about half way if one of us was having trouble keeping awake. Drove on each others log, willow run didn't care.
Most times we would just run over the tap to 287 87 to NY17. It's a good 20-30 miles longer but usually wed make better time than sitting on the cross bx for 2+ hours wanting to kill everyone with an ax
Think it was a 450-475 mi turn depending on how we went home. For my 1st gig and bringing home 1000-1125 after taxes. 75 a day per diem. Not the best money for lumping food but I thought it was tits at 21 years old 1st jobDale thompson, Gearjammin' Penguin, bzinger and 4 others Thank this. -

I can only think of two places that were places I hated with a passion and I later refused to enter either one. They are NYC and Boston. The other places compared to NYC and Boston were but a petty annoyance to me. However, if you can handle Meeting Street in Charlie town SC you can handle anything! Yep, I actually did an alley dock with police help into a real-life alley there.
Brettj3876 Thanks this. -
