    this is more of a question to 4 wheelers;

where is the race , seams like its a race everywhere cant wait 2 secs for me to move over, so you pass me on the right...now think about this if you go into a blind spot and i go to move over whats going to happen?

my truck does 71/2 mph most MPH zones are 65 do you really need to go 75-80?

why tailgate? do you think getting right up on my bumper is going to make me get a boost and get out of your way?

ehhh just blowin off some steam hope some four wheelers are listening:biggrin_25513:

I took issue earlier today with someone making a generalized statement about four-wheelers. I think stereo-typing four-wheelers as disrespectful and careless is as silly as stereo-typing truckers as fat, dirty, and smelly.

But this is a truckers' forum, and I know it's gonna happen here. I don't like it, but I don't take it personally.

What's interesting, though, is why you're hoping the four-wheelers here are reading it. I don't understand that part. Seems kinda pointless to me. I bet ya' dollars to donuts, we're the four-wheelers who respect truckers and the job they do... and don't pull those kind of stunts on big truck drivers. Or anyone, for that matter...

I'm not the brightest crayon in the box and don't always pick up on subtleties. So I'm asking... and very honestly and straightforwardly... are we, the four-wheelers, really welcome here? Or is it just lip service?

I'm curious how you drivers feel about our participation here. (By the way, regardless of the answer, I'm staying put. WiseOne will have to ban me to get me outta here. For every post that drives me nuts, there are probably a hundred that I enjoy. :yes2557:)

Gets on your nerves, don't it? Sad thing is, it's not gonna change, and truck drivers are always gonna be in the wrong.
Just grin and bear it, be as safe as you can, and let the 4-wheelers pull their stupid little antics.
I do find it amusing though that the car that speeds by you, passes you on the right, rushes past you in the construction zone, always seems to be the car right in front of you when you get to your off ramp. So what did all of the rushing do for the car? Not a thing. I just giggle and shake my head.

How about when you're running speeds that we won't mention here and there are STILL 4 wheelers thinking that if they run all up underneath your rear end that they can push you faster?

My personal favorite... the ones that fly around you at mach 8.. slide in front of you taking the chrome off your bumper in the process and lock their brakes trying to make the exit that they are already halfway past. Even when there is no one behind you...

They drive like this because of the "Me FIRST" attitude.

GOD forbid if they get behind a truck that may slow them down...sigh

I've seen them do some crazy things out there to get around 18 wheelers.

It makes your teeth ache at times....:biggrin_2552:

You should have seen the nuts I saw. I was following a Semi through long stretches of road contruction. Three vehicles sped past me and got between me and the semi. then with the next break they sped around the Semi. The third one didn't quite make it. He kept going but hit a number of cones.

But to be fair on this same trip I was passed by a black semi. I watched as he/she passed every thing in sight.

I also watched as it got pulled over.

But why didn't the other cars get pulled over?

Not to be contrary but I see the same behavior from truck drivers. Everything from racing up a lane that is closing ahead to get a jump on the other traffic, to tailgating cars and other trucks flashing their lights, honking their horns and being belligerent over the cb.
I see truckers reading maps, paperback books, typing on laptops, talking on cell phones, eating and drinking their lunch at 70 mph while steering with 1 finger, and even 1 foot up on the dash.
Compare this to four wheelers doing makeup, changing clothes, shaving, talking on cell phones, reading paperwork and newspapers, speeding, swapping lanes through traffic (like its their own personal ski slalom course), and flipping other motorists off for being in the way and I dont really see much of a difference. Do you???

I see it, too, 777... which is why I don't like generalized statements against truckers or four-wheelers. There are responsible and irresponsible drivers on both sides.

When I read posts condemning four-wheelers as a group (and not simply the action of a particular automobile driver)... and a bunch of truckers jump on the bandwagon running us down as a careless and disrespectful lot... I want to thwack them upside the head.

Why? Because by their very words and actions, those drivers are alienating the very four-wheelers that may need further educating about sharing the roads with big trucks. You can't open a productive dialogue when one side holds itself superior to the other.

If I do something wrong, teach me the correct way. That's part of the reason I'm here. But don't put yourself above me. Respect is a two-way street... and if some truckers don't respect the large number of responsible four-wheelers, then they should not expect those four-wheelers to respect them, either.
