Alright everyone I'm new here, I recently graduated a cdl school in eastern, nc. I have my cdl A. I have a dui a little over 4 years old. I was told it shouldn't be THAT hard to find a job with this on my record. I was 18 when I got that and I'm 23 now. Served 4 years in the USMC honorably. Is there any company that anyone knows of that will hire me? Thanks in advanced

They usually want a dui to be 5 years old.

Yeah, that's about every company I've come across. I was just curious if anyone knew anyone that hires with say 3-4 years.

Likely need to find either a smaller outfit, or go local with a construction type job.

I would rather be local now anyway cause my wife is pregnant but there isn't a whole lot of jobs here and if there is they want expirience. I just need to get my foot in the door somewhere

Start looking at aggregate outfits. Surely you have some companies in the area that have a batch plant for concrete and asphalt.
Where are you, rural area or metro area or in between? All of these areas likely have outfits that pave roads, pour concrete, and have sand and gravel trucks.

If/when you do get in, give it a few months to show what you got, then start offering to do more/different loads, such as hauling equipment into/out of job sites, etc. Gets you noticed as a serious go-getter, while also gaining you more experience.

Good luck, and thank you so much for your service!

Huh? CDL school should have placement assistance! No hire, no pay. Smells fishy, marine.

For local job you'll just have to beat the bushes around your area and knock on doors.

There's some OTR companies that will probably hire you so ignore what they may have on the websites and apply anyway:

    Carolina Cargo
    Western Express
    Paschall Truck Lines
    Howard Transportation
    USA Truck

Also check Craigslist/transportation and might find something local also, or at least regional.
