The cat shop ended up doing nothing with the computer. The low power was somewhat fixed with some new injectors.
Also what should I be seeing for fuel pressure on this motor? Never saw much over 80psi at any point during the road test with the mechanic, who thought that was an acceptable number. -
-
80 PSI is fine. The real test is fuel psi under load, if it gets pulled down a lot then you need to put new filters on it and test again. With new filters if it will still pull it down a lot you need to up the spring psi to increase fuel psi.
You need to get a 70pin ecm on there! Is there an adapter from the factory engine harness to the ecm? -
Good to know on the fuel psi. i was bobtail when we had the gauge hooked up.
whoever did this swap, changed the front cover too, for the cam sensor i believe. Its the sensor thats in front of compressor, and points downward towards the driver side.
there is a spot for another sensor, its a little above the compressor, and it points rearward. well that spot has a block off plate over it.
The wire harness apparently was rebuilt to make all this happen. The mechanic said he looked it over, and found some spots that had rubbed. He repaired it as needed.
So, i'm thinking it runs ok as is. and I dont want to have the expense of switching everything back.
Thank you. -
If he had a gauge on it while you were driving and it pulled down to 80psi and no lower then you're definitely fine there.
