Hello I bought a motor that is originally a 435 and it has a 550 hp file in it (1469216). What needs to be changed to make this run like a true 550? It currently blows a steady stream of black smoke when you're full throttle. Turbo ? There is no boost leaks, 5232 injectors codes and fls / fts 0/0 .

I'd guess you'd need a different turbo, and injectors. Sounds like it isn't getting enough air. Also set the injector codes according to what is printed on them. Setting them all the same isn't doing you/them any good.

    lester Thanks this.

First Most gurus say not to run same #s across the board .

Second if you have aluminum pistons in that thing you aren't going to be a happy camper.......

Wrong, 5EK 550hp engines do not run the same injector as the lower HP engines. They run a 211-3024 or some older variation where the lower HP engines run a 211-3023 size injector.

Same goes for the 6TS except the bigger injector starts at 475HP and up.

So if that 550 file originally came in one of those it is not running right. Just go to a 600 file and be done with it.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to upgrade, the one you have now would suffice for a little bit as long as the wastegate is still working and hooked up.
