Yes. If you want to keep your wife happy, you should drive over the road and send me her picture, phone number and address.
Actually, that would make my wife happy. -
there are jobs out there but gonna be hard to find with no experience. try vendors, coke, pepsi, budweiser stuff like that. you might be able to find something but 45k might be a little high to start.

JReding Thanks this.

I got hired on at coke with no training and a new cdl. I work day shift Monday through Friday, home everyday by 3 or 4, great benefits and making about 40k a year starting out.
So yes, it's possible, look at vendors.
Sent from my cappy using tappy...thekrell Thanks this. -
You can easily make over 50 grand a year with any decent LTL carrier Period > You will be home daily or nightly which ever shift you work, may be working more than 8 hrs. a day but the opportunities are there . Dont let anyone tell you otherwise.

Well I appreciate all the input guys. Here's the most frustrating part of my story. I did eight years in the Air Force with a Civil Engineer Squadron. Seven of those years I had the military equivalent of a CDL. I drove everything from five ton dump trucks to articulated off road dump and spent over two years deployed driving a tri axle with low boy hauling heavy equipment all over Iraq and Afghanistan. It's a real kick in the teeth to have the few companies I've talked to tell me that because I didn't have a "civilian CDL" that my experience is non applicable!!! I'll definitely be looking into these LTL companies ya'll were talking about.

All the LTL drivers are telling you the truth, not sure if ABS Freight is still training drivers, i know that they were doing that a few years ago. don't even think about the road and more so if your wife already spoke her piece, the road is not what it used to be in the past, it's not worth it. good luck............

Apply at every LTL company within your home area. Dont be overly concerned about the experience issue. Most times getting on with an LTL carrier is a matter of Right place at the Right time, not how many miles or years experience. Make sure you highlite your military experience, you earned it so use it.JReding, rockytopcummins, chalupa and 1 other person Thank this.
