American Trucker -
yep volvo engine

Aussie Dave you are the most confused person on here one day you want a detroit and then your talking about Volvo 460. If you are pulling heavy haul why dont you look for trucks and motors that specialize in those departments. I think you just need some1 to talk to if thats the case just say that and we will talk to you.

I clicked this thread because I thought CAT 460........ nevermind.

the problem is there are not anything suitable (price range) with a detroit in it for sale, but i have found there are a few volvos in my price range. i would prefer a detroit but looks like i have to settle for a volvo. p.s yes i could be a little confused, but i know i want a engine around the 450hp to 500hp

for the weight you are trying to pull you need a 550hp or better and

I have a Volvo with a Cummins, love it.
After hearing advice of others, I would stay away from the Volvo engines. -
yep more hp is great, just want to keep fuel cost down also. 550hp with this weight would be like driving a car, i used to pull 215,000lbs with a 400hp mack back in the 1990s

is that european volvo or maybe something imported from US and converted to rhd?
did you consider to buy volvo fh/nh 15 with isx ?
