The rear axle is usually the one that slides so it will be ca. legal
-
Some 48's have front axle sliders. We had a couple recently. I think they were Wilsons or Transcrafts.
-
A 48 is already Cali legal.
OP, most any manufacturer will make you a front slider. Doonan, Manac, Mac, Wilson.
Fontaine will if you order 50-100 trailers. -
I'm assuming you wanna go to Canada? Manac
SHC Thanks this. -
That is what I was thinking as well. It's basically the same as a spread axle slider on a refer truck. I've seen them on a Wilson and on an East.
-
They all make them, some have 51' that are Canada and Cal legal
-
I've seen them on lots of steps. East, Reitnouer, Lode King, Mac, Wilson, etc.. It's a pretty common feature up here, although not everyone runs them. The list of who doesn't offer them is much shorter.
SHC Thanks this. -
Thank you all. I'll be looking for one, just didn't know they all made them, thougt it was more one or two companys.yes i do run canda sometimes.

They don't all make them. Most of these guys are refering to the sliding axle on a step OVER 48' long I believe. The slider on those is a rear axle slider. Not very many make a 48' step with a sliding axle, especially a front slider. You'll have your work cut-out for you
