Certainly looks like the mini-van ended up sideways in the road some how, then was impacted (t-boned) by the truck. Been on/off rain and drizzle all day/night too. Also, there are a lot of deer on that section of road, too

How tragic this news is. My Condolences to the families. This is awful.

Amen! That was a bad one, still they are not giving out any info.

5 from Indiana killed in Arkansas interstate crash
Was not the truckers fault, seems the van veered into the truck. -
semi retired semi driver, OldHasBeen and allniter Thank this.

um, the truck did strike the van. Nothing suggests is was the fault of the truck driver though.

You'll be happy to know they blame the train for this one.

"Arkansas State Police's crash report says that a Dodge van driven by 77-year-old Ronald Pate of Indiana, was traveling east in the left lane partially on the shoulder when it reportedly made a sudden left turn into the semi truck. The truck struck the driver's side of the van pushing the van into the median between eastbound and westbound routes of I-30."
This indicates that the van was in the LEFT lane .... partially on the shoulder & made a LEFT turn & went into the path of the truck which hit the van on the drives side. The only thing left of the ...left shoulder... is the median. So, therefore, the truck would of had to be driving along in the median. We all know that probably want the case but it looks like someone would proof read this stuff before it goes to press.
