If you still want/insist on dry van duty -- I do know for a fact that Werner Enterprises is now hiring quite aggressively in the southeast (they also have a terminal on the west side of Atlanta, on I-20).

You have more than enough experience to get on wth them.

They may ask you if you want to run on a team -- just stick with solo.

Also: do not let them put you on A-N-Y account with ANY of the dollar stores (Dollar General, Family Dollar, etc). You will HATE it.

Right, that hazmat is good for reefers and dry van. I've hauled lots of hazmat loads when I pulled reefers. Loads of paint or fingernail polish/fingernail polish remover or other simple stuff. The super bad hazmat is hauled by specialized companies.

Submit the short/quick apps on the websites before any phone calls. This is important. This way, you can call and say something like, "I'm checking on my job application."

Climate Express will hire you because they require 2 years tractor trailer experience of any kind or 1 year OTR experience. Where are you located exactly?

If you’re going to do all this ( I have) , I’d recommend getting a passport too, even if you’re not going out of country.

I don’t know why it is but all of the other security checkbox items seem easier to renew with a passport. The passport is around $200 and lasts for 10 years. Just one more credential that shows you’re legal, stable and dependable.

The open road is getting crowded & stupid. How do you like fighting for a parking space because a customer took 5 hours loading you? How about standing in line to get a dirty shower or a hamburger that looks like someone stepped on it? If OTR was "the open road" people imagine there would be long lines waiting to get OTR jobs. There isn't.
