If the math to predict your paycheck is unnecessarily complex, it will probably be to your detriment.

I found this interesting so I did a little reading. It's true that Mayhew wasn't paid for return of the Jedi. Neither was David Prowse the actor who played Darth Vader. When they signed on for the movies, they decided not to take a salary and instead opted for a percentage of the "net" profits. That's what's left after everybody else takes their cut, and I guess it's fairly common in Hollywood to get royally screwed on net profits. The person who made the most from the original Star Wars cast was Alec Guinness (Obi-Wan Kenobi) who was able to sign on for 2.5% of the "gross" profits from the movie. At the time of his death, it was estimated that he made as much as 75 million from that sweet deal. Even Harrison Ford only made $10,000 from the original movie.

    Why not 50/50 gross?

This way both of you split all the costs?

I just want to learn so I’m asking.

ATL to DAL, DAL to ATL is a cheap lane and always has been. Lots of people want to run it and are willing to do it cheap...

Yea it's a straight shot! Love the run but no money! I made good money from Houston to New Jersey over to Columbus Ohio back Houston. We did that one for about three months. It was tough but paid good.
