That's what USED to be good about being a truck driver. Now with cameras, ELD's and cell phones, the boss may as well be riding with you.

I-74 was nasty earlier thus week as well... I traveled it going east on Monday... Conditions were crap!!! Tuesday I traveled it going west, slid off marks everywhere. Several vehicles still in the ditch...
People just dont learn... They drive to fast, follow to close, change lanes sharply, hit the brakes to hard... And most importantly, THEY DONT PAY ATTENTION TO THE ROAD MORE THAN 20 FEET, OR 1 VEHICLE IN FRONT OF THEM!!!
I was taught from a very young age to look as far ahead as you can... You dont walk around looking at the feet of the person in front of you. So why do people seem to fixate on the bumper of the car in front of them???? Look over, around, under, through vehicles to see as far ahead as possible.stillwurkin, HoneyBadger67 and starmac Thank this. -

Right..look at lots of people trying to merge. Can't even look ahead of time to see what they have to deal with when they get to the end of the ramp. Those pile ups around youngstown and surrounding areas were the result of snow bands that were intense. One moment clear, then blinding snow. Traffic running in a pack, neck and neck, like its some kind of race. Hardly anyone slows down. One or two trade paint, or get sideways, gets the whole thing started. No cb radios to shout out a warning(or very few). Used to be opposite direction drivers would at least try to warn others of situations ahead. The other day i watched a younger man driving with his hoodie up around his head. I was thinking, that hood sure does wonders for his peripheral vision. What's wrong with a stocking hat? Oh, thats right, gotta try to look coool.

Lately, I've been seeing more drivers having the curtains deployed! "Oh I can still see the mirror." YOU CAN'T SEE OUT THE SIDE WINDOW!!!
I had the Velcro pop on my passenger side curtain once and I couldn't pull over fast enough to get it secured.starmac Thanks this.
