And I’m sure you guys figure that tire cost as part of your regular expenses of running up there. When my old boss can run his trucks on one set of drives a year that’s a huge savings compared to the guys that can’t.

 

No doubt, I want to make mine last as long as possible, but it is what it is, some of our grades are 13 % and better on gravel, tires just wear out, no way around it. If we leave our winter tires on to run them on out once the snow goes away, you can almost watch the rubber leave. lol

I run 2 sets of tires, but do not try and run hard all year, so I generally get 2 seasons out of a set. A lot of the guys will not run much during the summer, so they put a new set on about this time of year and will still have some tread , this time next year.

 

Many a big cam with a button change lasted just fine with a 1250 if you weren't an idiot

 

Snowball and I wrestled new bearings times four packed in red grease that I proved t myself that it works regardless of what china thinks of all that. Tossed on brake pads. Drums took care of themselves. Maxi bolted the #### out of the tandems because we're fixing to tow that to the farm using a 1961 reo which really should not be running and diving with that road by the way with tha piston through the block and killing that cylinder among other issues until our drag tow bar is legal. 40 strong washers per bolt times 8 bolts front axle and 6 on pintle end.

Work work work work steady pace. rains came and went. ate lunch in the dirt kept working steady pace.

After that day we accomplished everthing.

The following morning I had no working body at all. Tossed a vase, that brought them running. Ended up in the hospital where they stick IV Valium in me, then hit it wthe biggest medical interview ever and proceeded with a special medicine to paralyze me until I poured off the table (I did not, not with 4 nurses and two doctors monitoring me...) They had a machine to read my brain to potentially see what my immediate needs were. Medicine pain, fluids hydrate and food by the truck load (Not just yet. But they are working o nit.

That 4 hour procedure broke the body. Once they countered it I had everything back within the hour.I was told that I will see my wife and after that I would be a hot item socially and not to take THAT seriously. School of knots is ok, but when you get older towards 90 plus it's easier to draw than to poke owsies with knot sticks.

 

I would love to see the machine that can read your brain, that would be a one of a kind doosey. lol

All of the north east except for CT allows Atleast 99k and a few years ago you could not swing a dead cat without hitting someone running a big cam 350/400, we still have a in the yard, but has been converted to a 10 wheel dump so only good for 56k with the rears as well as a 237 Mack 10 wheeler good for the full 73k
