    here is the serial number to a 5ek I bought
    5EK48399
    I was told it was a 550 but I'm pretty sure it's not
    Can anyone give me HP info on it

    They were all different ratings. If the sticker on the valve cover isn't there I guess you would have to have someone hook up to it to know for sure. I think they came right before the 2ws engines so there would have been some factory 550's like 97 and 98 models. You could call a Cat dealer and they could tell you off the serial number what it was from the factory I guess.
