Not necessarily true. If you are sent a pre assignment, do a trip plan, and update your eta and nat, that is driver related. Note: that doesn't make it a negative. The reason you put in for your eta at the shipper for final delivery is irrelevant for bonus purposes.

Also for example what would you in this situation? My ETA for tomorrow is 0900 with NAT at 0930. I'm 13 miles away and plan on starting at 0700. After pretrip I'll be on the road at 0730. I feel this puts me at 1hr early. Would you do that or bump it back? -

If you are worried about sitting because you get there too early, then just simply take a longer break to get there on time so you aren't sitting. Chances are, if you change your eta to an hour earlier the night before, you aren't going to get an earlier load because by then they probably already have one assigned, they just haven't sent it to your truck yet, and they aren't going to pull the load because you are early.Waggledaddy Thanks this. -
I was told the impdisp replaced the old trip planning message when QC was updated

If you move eta/nat EARLIER then you don't need a reason, just hit save.
If you go later then you need a reason. I use "customer related" for almost all of mine, especially when setting them initially. For the most part it only matters if you're going to be outside the customers expectations - in those cases "driver related" counts as a service failure.
At pick up I figure the earliest time I can possibly make delivery (running reasonably not getting up at 0300 because my 10 hr break ended at 0259), then add three hours. At my next stop I bring the eta back to what I expect to do. This means my eta accuracy (defined as eta set at pick up -:30 to +3:00) is accurate almost no matter what.
As I go on my trip every stop I check etas and nat and update if they've changed by more than 15 minutes. I know that sounds excessive but I constantly re figure etas as I drive (most of my ex-girlfriends have already told me this is weird, but it's me). The more accurate your eta and nat are the better the loads you get.
I also don't touch my nat in the last there hours before coming available unless it's a drastic change (1 hour or more earlier) - this way if we're First In First Out (FIFO) I don't drop down the list. Until recently we haven't had a lot of FIFO situatuons.91B20H8 Thanks this. -

something to keep in mind this first 90 days, you are under a training dbl. once you hit your regular board your actual dbl will soon learn your habits and schedule you accordingly. regardless of your nat. once you show a habit of on time delivery including early , you should be assigned accordingly.
