I'm cutting multiple things out of the story. It really is much worse than just that. Those were just the highlights. And in all due respect (and I said this to my DBL) I've made some bonehead mistakes myself. For example, when I came back from my weekend off I found I had forgot to log off duty. So I had to spend 15 min fixing it (never done it before). I mentioned almost hitting a pole and running out of hours in my earlier posts. I'm all about calling myself out and putting myself on blast. But I'm the newbie. They're the professionals. It's expected that I'm going to make mistakes. They are too. But mine should be more than theirs. I'm trying to stay positive. The last thing I will say that was said was at the very end of it all the blame was being placed on the drivers. That may be what set me off to get so ticked. Because it's not that. I'm not complaining about the tires. I'm not complaining about the damaged trailer I have right now. I'm not complaining about the pending defects (missing mud flap) of the one I'm going to get. I understand that as part of the job. I'm complaining that they know nothing about it. If I can see it why can't they? I'm complaining that they made me sit for 3 hours to end up driving to where I was going to begin with. Btw I ended up paying 12 for parking because I got there so late. And finally, I'm complaining for the blanket reason of not lack of communication but the complete non existence of communication. It's sad. It's bad business. It's causing turnover. It's the reason they have the name they do in the industry. I'm not over it. I just feel like I'm insignificant. And that's not right.

understandable. and you aren't alone in that feeling. All I can say is hang in, its just this 90 day board.
not to make excuses for them at all, but think about it. they each have 30-40 noobs to corral like cats.

going forward I suggest when calling in you wait for your guy. explain with all respect I dont find you helpful.and I prefer to speak to xyz. if it doesnt resolve, include THEIR boss in a face to face.

The communication, the waiting 2 hrs on SEM, the sending to a customer they know won't release empties none of that is because of 90 day board it's strictly they don't want to become efficient because then corporate would realize they have alot of dead weight.

12 years and I had this discussion with my ICA/DBL.

I was sent to a bakery company in MI. To pick up an mt, I've delivered or picked up multiple times over the years. THEY DO NOT RELEASE EMPTIES. I know this so before I headed 50 miles to go get the ghost empty I called and waited to speak to my DBL ( I call my ICA a DBL since I'm treated as a company driver on occasion )
I informed him I've been going to this customer since 2004 and they've never released an empty unless you deliver into the facility.

He informed me the box planners are the ones who put the empty on me and I have to go there to get the empty.

I argued there's not going to be an empty he said there will be.

I went and of course one of us was right and all the rest wrong.

I called back in and told him again (after sending in the exception) there's no empties.

He says wait for box planner so I went to Woodhaven lot. Waited 2 hrs and was then sent to same location as before so I sent in an exception and was finally told to go to Woodhaven and pick up empty (which I already had done.)

Long story longer they think they know it all when they don't know Shhhhik

Do these trailer hunts happen often? Also does SNI deal mainly in short hauls? Do they ever have 1000+ mile runs?
