The long wait is over. I'm here!!! West Memphis AR Schneider terminal. It's nice. Got a nice break room. Kitchen that serves hot food. Haven't met any teachers yet. Been here an hour waiting in the break room watching news.
As I was typing the above they took us back to the classroom. About 7am.
Hotel was pretty nice. Nicer than I expected. Rooming with a young guy. We're both newbies. He had gone through the 20 day course.
I'll post how my day went later tonight.
6/21/16 Is the beginning of my Schneider career!!!

Go slow.... Take things easy....
The program is set up so you pass...
Ask lots of questions, especially when you're out with your trainer....
Be a sponge, absorb everything....
Go slow, take it easy....
Take a deep breath and enjoy!
And then roll on......Friend and Home_on_wheels Thank this. -
Good luck to you. Not much I can say that hasn't been said but yes take your time and actually enjoy it. Don't stress the small stuff. They throw alot at you in those 3 weeks. Take a deep breath and focus on one thing at a time. You will fine tune it all once you get out on your own. Especially the Qualcomm stuff. It took me a good 2 months solo to get all my workflow stuff in order and making the bonus criteria.
Schneider wants things done their way, not the way you learned in cdl school. Don't question it and complain like so many in my class did. Embrace it and keep those skills in your toolbox for when your solo. You will need to take bits and pieces of whatever skills you've learned and put them together when you are driving and mostly backing out here in the real world. Never stop learning. Once again, best of luck to you and keep us posted when you find the time. They'll run you pretty hard there.Friend Thanks this. -
Welcome to the pumpkin!
I've seen your other thread. Honestly.. Out here those amenities would be awesome. I'm making do with a Coleman cooler and one of those 12 volt hot boxes but it's not great. Helps a whole lot to have a parksmart on my truck but I'm one of the few. -
Best of Luck
Be Safe Out There
