It takes 3 years to become vested. I wonder if they think this will increase retention?

I don't see how it would. That may be their thinking though. I thought they said 2 years to be vested. But it's .50c on the dollar before that. A high average to invest would be 5%. I don't remember the amount they match to. But for low end estimate numbers say an average check of $600. 5% is $30 a week invested. First 2 or 3 years is matched half at $15. I can't see why anyone would make a decision to not leave for something else purely on $15 a week. That's what around $750 a year? I can take one of my kids to TCBY once a week for that. They'd have to alternate though lol. Don't get me wrong. I'm not knocking the program. It's great even at less than what it is. Everyone should do it. And take advantage at the very least the free money for investing. Even if it means to take it out for a home improvement at the end of the year. It's double what you originally had. Not that I'm suggesting ANYONE do that (or wear printed shirts and sandals while on duty) but it's better than giving it away. In the end. Go to the casino any day of the year. It's packed of people looking for free money. This is a little more safe. At the end of it all there has to be a reason why, they are pushing to give out more money. I'm going to research it..... lol still waiting to be unloaded. Hour 4 is in the books. I've got the time.

I couldn't find any solid numbers. But the gain for employers is it being tax deductible. On both sides though. What they match is and also what an employee invests reduces the taxable income. The money may be offset as a wash where that $1m matched really didn't come out of their pocket. Or it could be an extra source of profit (which I'm leaning towards). It would make sense that it's the last one because the same goes for per diem and how they push that. It's more beneficial to the company profit wise for employees to enroll in these profit schemes and loopholes the government sets up for them.

On another note. But money related. I've been fighting since my very first load to get paid detention pay. (They say it'll be this week *crosses fingers*) but the kicker of it is this. I was told in training that detention pay was $15hr after the first 2 hours. I could have misunderstood but I font believe I did. That figure is not true. I was told that is $15 for hours 1-2 $30 for hours 3-5 and $45 for hours 6-9. I've got insider information. I know how much they charge for detention pay. It does vary on customer. But the lowest seen was $65hr. So I sat there for 8 hours. Got paid $45 for 6 of those hours. Schneider made $390. Would it really break the bank to pay me $90? This is where Schneider loses employees. Or other companies too.

I said when I was in driving school and I think maybe in this thread that I would never even think about O/O or L/O. I've started reading forums the other day..... my wife was laughing at me and pointed out that I said all of that. I hate that woman.....

see your cover in this is logging the arrival and depart times on the bills. have the reveiver initial those times after you have your copy back. if they refuse note that refusal. be smart to keep a dentetion diary too. load# arr dprt times and date along with whatever the appt time was.

if its a set or "at" appt the detention clock begins off that appt time.

Yeah. That's what I meant. I just wasn't counting the first 2 hours as free. Just the hours you get paid for. So I was about right. I'd like another new person to chime in. Cause I really feel like they said 15hr. I could be wrong though. Obviously I am by what is actually paid. But misrepresentation isn't cool. Maybe when I get home I'll ask the trainer to see what they say.

On a side note, still here lol. Called the Carni's twice. Both times I think I just shot myself in the foot. First time they rescheduled my load to pick up on Monday. I guess they just wanted me to hang out here..... I called and he said he'd look into it. Then it was deleted and nothing added on. I've got 3 hours left on clock. Truck still shaking. It's 4pm in St Louis. Truck stops should be getting full soon. And I'm figuring I'll have to call back and get another assignment before I leave. Which means another 30 min hold or longer being that it's Friday after 4pm. Speaking of casinos. I may be going to pay some poker at Hollywood. Usually wide open with truck parking there. Only 5 miles away too. Tourney starts at 7pm. But buy in is $110. Ouch.....

Yeah good call. I've started a load log. I'll add that to it. I'm much better at typing than writing. Can't read my own writing sometimes. Wonder if it'd be better to do a word doc. But yeah ill start tracking that as well. Thanks.

Some of the ocs have these weird plastic window screen thingees. Tjeyre supposed to be good for helping cool down the truck and keep flies and such out. I always had a ratchet strap that I would use to tie both my doors together. I was taught that after I had a complaint filed against me by another company driver that "mistakenly" tried to enter my locked truck at a terminal. We had a disagreement over his repeated attempts and why he had an mt duffle bag with him lol

When you send a free form message on the Qualcomm does it go to your DBL or somebody in Greenbay?

DBL if they're in the office. Somebody else within the office if DBL is out for the day.

If after hours, then it goes to cheeseland.
