The first 2 pictures are from my perspective on the drivers seat. From basically how I view them.![]()

This last one is basically a closer view of the passenger side crack.

I've tried to research on FMCSA website but very little helpful information.

parked next to a sni driver in jackson tn couple months ago. he had a crack going from one side to the orher. on tbe drivers side. didnt obstruct his view. shops wouldnt do it. had been pulled in for inspection. no write ups. doing them during pms now. rule changed at some point.
its good of sni to keep you all up to date on those kinds of changes , isnt it? as always, stellar communication from green bay.TennMan Thanks this. -
Don't forget, FMCSA sets the minimum rules each state can then set a more strict law.
Another way of saying it is just because FMCSA may allow it the jurisdiction you are driving thru may not.
You're the captain of your ship stand your ground before it's too late. -
Before I read these I sent in a message. I'm not doing the verbal thing. Basically I asked for confirmation that they would pay the fines and say that it was their policy to not replace the window in writing. I also said I wasn't comfortable with risking it as even if they would agree to that it still could go against my CSA. I'll wait to see what they say.....

Search rule 393.60(c)(3) - cracks must be less than 19 mm in diameter, not within 3 inches of another crack.
From that I would the drivers side would be legal, passanger not so much.
If the service advisor wants to push off something you think is a violation write down their name, date and time. It's amazing how the tune changes when you can prove who told you.
Every time Dave in Atlanta tries to pull that crud I make him prove its dot legal.milehunter43, TennMan and Home_on_wheels Thank this. -

I wouldn't try it. It's opening yourself for a world of hurt. DOT may give you a ticket and Schneider may give you grief over the ticket.
Just go to the service advisor and say rule 393.60 says you fix this.TennMan Thanks this. -
very politely ask for their full name and associate number. then ask to speak to their supervisor. ask that he bring the latest version of the green book to point out where there are getting their info.
or just pull into obetz shop and get it replaced no questions asked. especially after doing a test of the windscreen integrity by pushing out slightly near where the crack is.91B20H8, Home_on_wheels, Waggledaddy and 1 other person Thank this.
