Had a delivery in the sticks of Iowa. 7 miles of dirt road. Actually mud road. Because of the recent snow that melted they unloaded me from the road. Parked as I took the pictures. I looked at the address via Satellite on Google. Saw that there were a number of containers there. But didn't know it was a dirt road. So before turning onto it even though both Google maps and Qualcomm was taking me there I called in to confirm.
They unloaded me with a bobcat and a pallet jack. Most redneck unload yet. It even beats the Carni episode earlier on in my career. Ohhhh and I'll never forget the smell of the trailer they called an office. A wonderful mixture of cat piss and pig vomit. I should have taken a picture of the mud I swept out of the trailer and gathered on my landing gear. I was really worried that my next stop was going to check my trailer. Even though it was swept the dragging of the mud just smeared it everywhere. I had to open my doors when I dropped it at the Dr Pepper facility. It had all dried up by then and looked horrible. Only way to get out cleaner would have been worth a pressure washer. May hear back about that in the future from someone complaining. We'll see.milehunter43 Thanks this. -
Don't worry about dropping that trailer, getting them to pay for a washout would be like pulling teeth lol
What were you delivering? -

Yesterday I had an amazon preassignment. They scheduled it back to back of my current load at Dr Pepper. I had an appt at 0930 taking 120 min to live unload then a 20 mile drive to amazon to pick up with appt at 1200. Basically 10 min to spare. Just figuring top speed and unload time perfect. On my way to Dr Pepper I get a message that I need to call in about assignment details and to plan on being there 1.5 hours early. Pfft. So I get to Dr and they say they are on schedule and should have me done by 1130. I call in and advise CS of my timing issue. They tell me to call DBL to see if load can be switched because of high priority. They say it'll be ok as long as I think I can still make final delivery time. I say yes. By then Dr is done. 30 min early. Pays to be nice to the lady at the window I guess. She came out and said I bumped you in front of some others. Sweet. I haul rear to Amazon. Get there 30 min early. Order cancelled. Pfft. Wow. Ummm ok. I go to Edwardsville OC I do my CBT and then have another assignment. It's 120 miles away and not ready till 2000. It's 1230. Geez. I swept out my trailer and saw a hole in the roof. Well this works out I guess. They fix it and I'm off. I get to PG and they said my load just came through as done. She was about to turn me away lol. I get my loaded trailer and head to the gate. I'm on the road heading there abiding the 15mph and of to the side this Swift driver comes out of a dirt lot on to the drove less than 100 ft in front of me. I hit the brakes. Decide not to blow the horn. Oh well. Then I notice he has a brake light out on his trailer. He gets to the gate and gets out the truck to head to the back to release his tandem slide handle. Then back into the truck. I briefly thought about telling him and explaining the key reasons we petrip our equipment but forgot what I was about to say. Guess he'll need to get that lecture from DOT.

Got routed home for too many critical events to go through training. I've had a total of 7 in my 6 months here. Just had 3 in Oct and 3 in Nov. This isn't funny but it's kind of funny. The guy pulls up my record and says he's never seen that long of a report. In total I had 30 events. So basically 23 following to close warnings. He calls over another guy and he was impressed as well. I asked if I got a plaque or award or something. They laughed. Then it got serious. They asked how I suggested to reduce the amount of warnings. I offered that they disconnect the system. I don't think they found that funny. Watched an amazing video discussed a couple situations and what I should do. Signed a paper then on to talk to my DBL. I really do like her. She told me that I won't be switching DBLs after 6 months. Is this true? I've heard from many drivers that they switch every 6 months. Before I signed the paperwork I tried to institute my own CTE (Commitment To Excellence) for the office to go through on their communication skills. It's gotten really ridiculous. Purple are rude, they give out wrong information or none at all and they don't listen. I'm sick of calling and explaining what is going on and being cut off and put on hold. I don't think that will make its round though. Can't say I didn't try. Well I'm off till tomorrow night. Guess I get to take the wife out to dinner. Be safe yall!
