Yes, agreed it was public knowledge when you bought the pos but I'm sorry to hear that man. I love the Duramax engine in my truck, of course all deleted. The EPA and the liberal agenda are killing this country.

I love my 7.3(96 250). I wouldnt own anyother diesel in a ford. Its got 289 on the clock and was running good till this past weekend. I think I finally have an injector crapping out. However I believe when the bottom end offically expires its gonna get a 12v 5.9 and be reborn as a fummins. Best diesel ever in a pickup imo and easiest to make good cheap reiable power out of.
-
the 6.7 cummins is nearly as big a piece of #### as the 6.4 powerchoke.
-
I will stick with my 5.9 with the miles I have in excess of 792,000 miles.Last edited by a moderator: Oct 28, 2012

Boys yall settle down ya know they dont like that lol. The Isuzu engine has been great in my Dmax, it came with the dual Alt GMC topkick engine. Farmers injectors is right near my home so those bad boys are going in when mine crap out. Ive deleted everything, downpipe, AFE air filter, amsoil by pass (oil) , two extra Cat fuel filters, air bags, Moor pit/idler, ported air to engine compartment with in line filter, synth fluids throughout, EFI live (not used whike towing), pull/race tranny, tranny cooler the list goes on.
But I love this truck. This engine has been around just about as long as the cummings, just not in the states and not choked back like they sell it here.
After 93,000 miles she transformed into the wonderwoman she it today. Hell, even my girly little wife likes it now. It didn't hurt that, since it had 16 k miles on it when I bought, that I was able to oick up the LTZ model so it loaded like no pick up should ever be.
The TopKick engine is just about the same as the one for the 3500 but the truck was ordered for the dealership to haul the dealership sponsered race car of some sort so its got more crap on it than I would have ever bought any other way. I will say I got used to the goodies pretty quick.
At any rate even though she barely resmebles any chevy/isuzu engine now. My EGT's run very low, turbo boost is quite stable, oil/engine temps are low as well all around this truck performs like a pick-up should!
I've hauled cars 3 Car wedge, tons of flatbed work, some enclosed car loads, hay/tractors pull no problem then flip a switch and she will run side by side with a Vette, flip it again and I can watch that fuel gauge NOT MOVE at all it seems. My last tank with the engine tuned low for MPG i got 753 miles out of a 32 gallon tank' all HWY from Tyler Tx to Amarillo I made it ALMOST all the way back!
The tuners Im told don't drmatically affect the fords/dodge like they do these isuzu that are in these chevys but I for one am now a believer!
Besides I love the difference between the tow/daily/hwy/race it affects my shifting points, injecter timing, fuel burst timing/amount an array of things. Nothing like the old "plug and play bully dog" crap.
Why buy a truck when you can BUILT it. ok modify it but hey ......big simles for this Texan Go little white boyAttached Files:
