260K on the 6.7 we run with no problems, out pulls our 5.9 all day long.

The 6.7L is a good motor. Not quite as good as the 7.3L and nowhere as good as the 12V 5.9's. we've been racing diesel truck for a long time, and its hard to beat a well tuned 12valve

Yup. You live and then you buy a cummins.

Clean 12v's are fetching for a lot of $$ these days.

we've had 3 different 6.7 3500's here and were highly unimpressed with all, and everyone I know with diesel Superduties have had serious issues with them. All my experience is based on the early 12 valves, which is why i'll not own anything else, nothing else compares in power and reliability.

unfortunately, as mentioned before, they fetch a premium. That, and low mile, unmodified, clean 12V Rams are quickly becoming scarce.

is the 5.9 a 24V? I'm not too fond of the 24V Cummins either, I imagine the 6.7 being a step up from the later 24V 5.9

Yes 24 valve, I just can't see grossing 32-40k with a 12 valve, awesome engine but really lacks power.

either way I'm done with way over priced pick ups, were going to S/As pulling our 4 car trailers.

To texas007 the duramax has not been around even nearly close to as long as the Cummins. Cummins also has efi.

I daily drive a 6.7 cummins and its been trouble free. Plenty of power, great mpgs. I do not miss my old 5.9.

Still trying to figure out how a "tuned" gasser could outpull even a stock diesel. The lug nuts on my Ram have more torque than most gassers are capable of producing. :biggrin_2559:
