Have you seen a 6.7 with the egr pulled out? They are almost the same as the 5.9..
BTW if I was pulling rvs I would use a 5.9, better mpg, but the 6.7 has more guts for pulling heavy .

I'm guessing you don't have a lot of miles on the truck, come back and tell us more after your over 250k, my 6.7 has 270k and has only been in the shop ONCE for injectors after a bad tank of fuel.
-
Exactly. Still running strong isnt it too?
-
No more name calling please, now all the staff know about it.
Thanks for understanding and your cooperationCondoCruiser Thanks this. -
I have two extra CAT fuel filters, ONE 2 micron and 11 inches long and one 4 micron water/sep so I'm betting my injectors are just fine but Bosch makes a part that can fail as with any other. I'm sure you have the biggest, toughest, strongest best truck in the world! I was simply stating that I liked mine, sorry to offend you or to get you on the whole "well my #&$$% is better than yours"
I will gladly never post on this thread again its all y'alls. Blow all the black smoke ya want! -
all is good brother, I know dmaxs that have 900k on them, and cummins that blow up with 150k, but what fun would the forum be if we could not argue ?? Just sayin

Best of luck to ya! -
Every manufacturer sooner or later has had an experience with "freaks if mechanical nature" belly up on them.
I would rather buy a new truck with a proven engine and a long warranty period, and as soon as I win the friggen lottery, I'll go out and buy one! -
I know it's an older thread here, but a good one for knowledge and I didn't want to start a new one on the same subject.
I am suffering through the terrible computer, sensor and seized up issues of the new Ford 6.7.
I will have to pay for the lessons by losing money to get rid of the 2 I have and find me a decent 2005 5.9 Cummins next.
I cannot have a powerplant that is not dependable. I don't mind throwing in a quick tranny, rearend, brakes or other front end parts. But you take me and my trucks off the road because the powerplant won't run, and I'm talking 4 weeks down and still no fix, then you have lost a customer for life. I took a chance, rolled the dice and lost. I should have listened to you all and done more research a couple years back, but NOOOOOO, I had to go with a Ford. My bad, that will teach me, hopefully in a couple months I can recoup and get me a real truck. One word, OOOOUUUUCH! -
So, any reliability info on the 2012 Dodge engine and truck?
It's the last year of no DEF and I'm considering getting a new one. -
Most of the guys I know running them do not have many miles on them yet.
One guy has 40,000 on it and complains of the poor mileage.
I looked at them in August and decided it would be better to replace the engine in mine if it dies.
