My new company has me jumping back and forth between 6 wheel straight truck (2 axles) and an 18 wheel daycab & box van .
I used to run a straight truck before, but now that I've had a few years OTR I'm more aware of stuff now.
For example where, exactly, at a truck stop should we park? I used to hate when straights and bobtails took up a whole spot when I was looking to shut down for the night.
Gotta run, but this should be interesting.
6 and 10 wheelers Vs. 18 wheelers. A rivalry?

I've seen the class B trucks with sleepers (think FedEx Custom Critical) park in the bobtail section because they are short enough. What I hate is when a bobtail (tractor only) takes up a whole length spot when there is specific places for them to park that are open. Next time any of you are at Jubitz T/S in Portland, OR you'll see what I mean!

I'm guilty for parking in a stall while bobtailing one time at the Loves in Houston. The reason is all the bobtails were congregating near the fuel island, with everyone idling and no privacy. I was inbibing a few cold ones while winding down for the day. I was tucked inbetween 2 vans midway in the lane. Very cozy and quiet and dark. Can you ever forgive me.....

One time the company sent a whole bunch of loads into Hagerstown MD. But there were no MT trailers to be had. So about 6 of us congregated at the Pilot off I-80. I got everyone to agree to line up nose to tail in 3 spaces and we'd all take a 10 together. 3 rows of 2 bobtails. pretty cool.

Way to go being considerate infosaur... I'm sure a couple of a couple of drivers apriciated that. If i'm bobtailing I try to find a place out of the way myself and leave the parking spots for the guys who are not in a bobtail division ..
