Patch from the inside. Don't need both sides. Cut your patch about 6 inches wide and about 6 inhes longer than the hole and round the corners of it. Wipe the area down with acetone, I use nail polish remover (not the acetone free kind). Do the same with the side of the patch that will go against the tarp. Apply your cement to the tarp and the patch and give it a few minutes to tack up. Apply the patch and use a firm roller to work it down. If you can, have someone hold something flat and solid against the outside, while you roll. You'll be almost good as new.
Fix it ASAP as wind will work on the hole and make it bigger.
Any questions, call Doug at the Gary store.SHC, Clasix1055 and MJ1657 Thank this. -
I have never repaired a fast track skin but for tarps you need to clean the area for the patch, I used ether myself.
Take and get a can of patch glue for inner tubes and the same material used for the tarp. Used to sandwich the patch between plywood but doubt if you can do that with a fast track but getting the glue to the edges all around was most important patching tarps.
The manufacturer will probably know a better way than I do.Clasix1055 Thanks this. -
The skin is still an 18 oz vinyl, the same material they made my tarps from. The two main things is round the corners of the patch and have the glue go beyond the edges of the patch.Clasix1055 and aiwiron Thank this.

Thank you both.... i will let you know how it turns out
aiwiron Thanks this. -
Did not know the skin was the same, thanks for that information and that is a sincere thanks.
True the corners need to rounded and the entire outside area of the patch needs to be a clean patch. I just used to glue the patch good and as you said the glue would pretty much follow the outside area.
One thing I forgot, if you use saran wrap to cover the patch outside it keeps it from spreading to everything else, I am a messy tarp patcher. -
I'd have never guessed from that 1/4 inch square of vinyl stuck in the middle of your forehead.
aiwiron Thanks this. -
LOL well the first time I patched a tarp I had more glue on me than the patch, it was like why is this dirt sticking to me, all over.

Take it back where you bought it if it's new.....

I have a waranty ... But I dont think a rip would be covered? I had to snag it somewhere...and im sure I can do it cheaper than the hourly rate .... Right?
