Vernon has been charged with a stop sign violation and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. The accident is still under investigation



North Carolina, a misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, classified as a Class A1 misdemeanor, carries a maximum penalty of 150 days in jail.

 

Had he not been a Govt employee he 'd be looking at , 4 counts of vehicular manslaughter ?

He might want to move to a Northern state. However, he might of had a medical emergency.

 

The local judicial system has already made a mess of it. Once it gets to the state attorney level, charges are likely to be added. If they don’t apply additional charges, it’ll likely be escalated to the state appeals courts. Precedence would dictate no one kills four people and only receives a misdemeanor.

 

Maybe but i doubt it , A more serious charge is fuel for the civil cases and the state will lie n cheat to keep from that happening .
