You better see if they all have a training program.I don't think Celadon does.

wow.i'd hate to be starting over and have to drive what you modern drivers have to.but then i didn't attend a school nor have i ever driven a truck that won't run the posted speed limit.so with that being said,i'd choose the company that allows the fastest road speed simply because ALWAYS being stuck in that great slow truck cluster would absolutely stress me the heck out.

prime runs what,62 mph at best? 65 beats 62 any day.it isn't always about the few cents per mile difference.peace of mind and the ability to move past the cluster should rank highly but PLEASE driver,do not take 10 minutes to pass another slow truck and don't cut me off to attempt to do it.just stay behind it-

don't listen to the post above... speed isn't the best thing to look for... prime will pay the most out of any and they have nice equipment and pretty sure all their trucks have apu's so that would be my top choice out of the three... 3 mph more isn't a big deal so decide on a company with best hometime needs or money needs or equipment or whichever company suits you best... but prime would be my choice

apparently all we have in common is love of the 2nd Amendment.why not listen to me?do you think that i have not aquired any knowledge whatsoever over 26 years? heard of osmosis? even crusty old drivers learn by simply being present.i had assumed that the six month driver/op would know to consider hometime, equipment, etc.,but then i have been proven wrong often when regarding a modern driver.

i know.you have 1 year's worth of practical experience, been in every situation imaginable while driving w/your trainer and went to and graduated from a driving school.if your trainer(that prob has been driving 1 year longer than you)didn't tell you then it simply is not true.

it reads as if you are a prime driver driving for prime.they are lucky to have you i bet.i sit and type in awe.perhaps you could teach me a little regarding driving, especially using electronic logs and qualcoms and vorad and super singles and driving in the truck hammer lane holding a mile of traffic up, and even about an automatic's shift patterns.oh wait.you just punch buttons for all that other than the super singles.i am thinking i could do all that w/o supervision.you constantly drive under supervision when you drive a truck w/all that technology on it.is it truly a truck you guys drive or does that truck(imposter truck that is)actually drive itself? are you then truly a truck driver or simply a holder of the steering wheel? serious question there.

typing of supervision, did your trainer ok your last post? sorry for the sarcasm.modern drivers ask for advice from an older hand yet refuse to listen.

oh no.i don't have an apu.what is it that i do not qualify for because of that fact? so sorry but man, sometimes it is what it is out here/on here and that is why i am growing calloused toward you newbie/modern "drivers".tried to help one slide his tandems the other day and was refused.i watched for 30 minutes and eased by and tooted the horn ever so slightly.i would'nt refuse help sliding tandems anytime.always easier when another driver gets involved.yeah it was a training mega company.

    rant over.carry on"driver"-

I appreciate all your help. Yes, I know there is nothing to replace experience. That is why I posted this on the experienced forum. I stay out of the hammer lane for passing unless there is plenty of time. I understand the flow and I have good driving habits. I am not required to work with a trainer employed by these 3 companies and the pay is slightly higher with Prime in a lightweight truck only. The equipment is good in all 3. I was mostly looking to see which company would most likely be fair in their treatment and since I will most likely be moving to Texas at the end of year which one may have the best options.

    Thanks.:biggrin_25519:

no.he is Rugerfan which i assume to convey an affection for ruger firearms. the right to carry/own firearms is covered under the 2nd Amendment.i love any and all firearms.i prep too.1st Amendment covers freedom of speech.

again i will reiterate that i have been wrong regarding the modern driver.with 1 big year,he qualifies as modern,at least from my perspective.if he does own rugers, perhaps he or possibly she, could indeed only be closeminded regarding the little they actually do know about driving and that is derived from the indoctrination that the schools/driver trainers seem to impose(driving in the middle lane is but one example) along with the given fact that he is very limited in experience.

you know i seem to be closeminded here all of a sudden.oh well.we all have our opinions and i am steadfast w/mine until proven otherwise-

3 mphs IS a big deal.

it makes a difference on how fast i can get out of oregon and cali and how many naps i take doing it.

people say driving slower is more relaxing. well, yep. it's sooooooooooo relaxing i spend more time sleeping then driving.
