Hello, I’m looking for another OTR company that currently pays more than my current rate of .53¢/mile. I’m based out of Atlanta & don’t really mind if I stay within the region as long as I’m hitting minimum 2500 miles/week. Preferably a company with APUs, no driver facing cameras, and a pet policy.
thanks

If you make it 6 more months, you'll have an entire industry to choose from, and be able to get more money. 53 cpm is quite the generous rate of pay for 6 months experience. Why are you thinking of leaving if you don't mind me inquiring?

I guess I have no particular reason except little small things and no bonuses, layover pay, etc. Currently I’m working for USA Truck on the Pods account and freight is extremely slow because of the season. I’ve never been good at “sitting in one spot” for too long. I could move to the dry van side of things with the same company but don’t think my pay would stay the same and equipment is very average.bryan21384 and Concorde Thank this.

Why don't you call USA recruiting and find out.

I did and as I thought, me being out of Georgia and only having 6 months, going to dry van OTR would be a downgrade in pay. And if I were in the northern/Midwest states, the highest paid acct would be Family Dollar/Dollar Tree which is touch freight, i.e, a no go. Just want to see some suggestions and what my options could be.Eddiec Thanks this.

Like the others said, if you can hang on with USA, for 6 more months, that will give you your one year(obviously) and you will be golden! You will be able to find jobs paying in the mid .60 cpm and up. You should also consider with freight volumes slowing down, now may not be the time to leave the devil that you know. Nothing worse than starting with a new carrier during the slow season ( or a down economy) and not getting any miles.bryan21384, lual and newnew Thank this.
