Two more pictures. Also, a question: if that a DIVISIBLE LOAD if I keep the forks on? Forks are roughly 4,000 lbs. Same for propane tanks? 2.jpg 1.jpg

Agreed....these things are a pain in the bottom to load on most RGNs. Then securing points are hard to get to due to the low profile.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

Alright looking at these, this would be straight forward. The forks can stay, LP tanks can not. Without seeing under the mid frame for securing points. I'd do a half inch chain at each of the four corners. Then add two more pulling the machine to the rear of the trailer. Secure the forks to the deck with a chain as well.

Thank you @Landincoldfire! Do you have any explanation or cite why LP tanks cannot stay? They add only perhaps 120 lbs of total weight.

Also does a doubled chain count as double the WLL?

    Sorry for my ignorant questions!

That’s not an LP tractor is it? Looks like a diesel to me.

LP tanks are generally not decently secured. At least not the ones I've seen. Cheap enough to get on the delivery end.

You may have to explain what mean by doubling up.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

It was a gasoline forklift when I bought it. But now we converted it to LP. It is 1000 times better with LP. Starts easier, and does not stink. But now there are two LP tanks secured to the side of th 3.JPG e forklift.

cke, Oxbow and Humblepie Thank this.

I deliver tihs forklift to my own job sites. If I do not have to send another truck to carry LP, I would be very happy.

Doubling up: let's say that I take one chain, fold it over an axle, and make two ends pull the axle backwards. That doubles the chain (as opposed to just using a single piece of chain). I hope that I am clear.

If you're transporting this from job to job. Why not have a tank cage made for the lift. Something the the bases fit into and a upper support on a hinge that can be tightened.

OK. I am totally open to a good discussion on how to secure the tanks. But *IF* they are secured, they do not make my forklift a divisible load?
