This truck I'm driving has a 6nz, 475 hp Cat. I've been running it for over a year now, and last week a new noise developed when using the Jake brake. It sounds as if someone is shooting a machine gun, a very big one. This is not the normal noise you would expect.

I don't notice it when I'm empty. And I've also noticed that my turbo boost gauge seems to go higher than it did when using the Jake brake.

    Coincidence? Broken spring somewhere?

    Any thoughts?

Not sure but I'd advise against using your Jake till you get someone to look at it. You risk dropping a valve and doing extensive damage. Sooner the better because they dont fix them selves.
