That requires personal responsibility and some skill.
    No way it would work.

Why's it too fast, because it scares you or you can't think that far ahead?

Have you ever ran down 85 in VA?

There’s plenty of places in the east you can run that fast.

...Because the dirty sweat pants and shower shoes crowd might get offended and we certainly wouldn’t want that.

Nothing more fun than blowing the doors off a mega truck at 75 mph.

I used to run 70-80 all the time in Texas thinking I might be safer. Texans just wanna be ahead of the truck and they'll go as fast as they need to to be there.

Now...I'll just mosey along somewhere between 62 and 68. I save money, I'm seldom caught in a pack of me-firsters and my stress level is lower. The most difficult part was getting accustomed to being passed by wiener and others like them...LoL

Put me out in the wide-open and I'll wind her out some, though.

Oh yes and you're right. I make a strong effort to manage my speed, especially in mountains regardless of where I am in the country. I drive the truck based on my knowledge and experience. 65 mph max is what I feel comfortable with in a semi, even if I had a wide open truck, that's as high as I would set the cruise with. When I first started, I wanted the fast truck. Now after getting some years in, my tune has changed. I have driven trucks at 70 plus. For me, it didn't feel like it was all that safe so I dialed it back

**Most** truck tires are rated for 75mph max. You can spend the bucks, just like a car, and get higher rated tires. Remember, though, there are drivers out there that run 85 and speak with a heavy accent and hardly any English who (probably) have no idea what the safe speed is for his tire.
