Let me start off by saying that typically, I will only stop at the larger chain stops (Flying J/Pilot, TA, Loves, etc.) Having by-passed the Pilot in Salinas and not wishing to turn around, I figured I'd shoot for this place to get a bite to eat.
Most notably, the Togo restaurant is not open 24hrs as the "Open 24hrs" sign on the truck stop's website indicates. Upon entering the facilities, I'm faced with the choice of a urinal that is full to overflow and decidedly out of order or the stall with no lock (or handle for that matter.)
The convenience store was pitifully stocked. After perusing its meager offerings and making a few dust-covered selections, I go back out to the truck to leave only to find someone banging on my door. I find the other attendant with a clipboard trying to collect a $5 parking fee to park in the lot overnight. I laughed and left.
In conclusion, this truck stop fails in every conceivable way. If there was any one thing I could say to the owners and operators of the station, it would be "This place is terrible and you should feel terrible."

I agree, I do not go to that TS. If I am going north I go to Dunnigan or south I go to Santa Nella. It's not safe there at night.

It sucks that we are forced to go to chain truck stops because they have driven all of the smaller places in to the ground. I personally HATE Pilots; they are always overcrowded and nuthouses, but my company has a fuel agreement with them so a lot of times I'm stuck with it.
T/A's are usually bigger and cleaner and I don't have to eat Wendys for dinner......Indiana Jack Thanks this. -
where in Stockton is that. I, in Stockton ofetne, never heard of it.
the one you gotta watch out for there is Vanco. -
It's on French Camp Rd, IIRC.
