Hi all. I have new carpet for the sleeper in the 05 780. Looks like a simple install l am wondering if l need to remove cabinets to get this done. Does anyone know if this will need to be done?
I already replaced the nasty light grey oem front flooring with a new may and it made such a nice difference. I can't wait to get this 10 year old carpet out of here. Thanks!

If you have the new OEM Carpet you can see if it has cutouts where the cabinets would be if they stayed in place.
If there aren't any cutouts, then most likely you need to remove the cabinets. -
Thanks we got it done. It is molded and prefitted but we had to make a cut on each side in front of each bench at the rear of each cabinet instead of pulling cabinets out. Can't see the cuts unless you are looking for them.
Also the hole for the plastic hole cover for the ladder to sit in is not precut or measured. Be sure to measure or what we did was cut out the old carpet where the hole is and used it as a template.
Beside that it is just a fairly simple job of pulling metal strip at front of sleeper and replacing the carpet. 780 guys l highly recommend this project. It feels like a new truck. This is your home and not only to look and smell better it also is a health issue with the dander and dust built up in 10 year old carpet.

Best price l had found was at Advantage Truck Center Charlotte. No sales tax and they will sell it for $530 Plus shipping. Any Volvo dealer can get it for you.

I would just take it to a Detail Shop and have it shampooed for $50, and spend the $650 you saved on something else.

Oh yeah,new carpet!Nice!
What if I go to Home depot and get carpet from there? -
A little late now but I wrestled with my carpet until someone told me to go to a carpet store. I just couldn't get the wrinkles out. We have a little strip mall in town. I called and he said to bring my truck in at 6am. Took them 5 minutes and no charge.

I just buy 6x4 piece, stick one side under that aluminum piece and have a new carpet every year. For 10-15 bucks
