    It is easier to round it to 8# but here is the actual formula

    This answer is for room temperature....it varies with temperature
    ______________________________
    1 US gallon = 3.7854118 liter

    Density of diesel= 900 kg/m³

    1 liter = 0.001 cubic meters (volume)

    and
    Weight= volume×density

    weight of 1 gallon of diesel is

    = 3.78*900*.001
    = 3.402 kg or 7.49 pounds approximately

    Well, you can get 20 gallons on and be legal. As for fuel stops being on the wrong side of the coops. Just fuel after and if you're not the one paying the diesel, tell your boss why you have to do it.

    Most states officially weigh you round to the nearest 500 pound mark. Problem is that at 79,840 is that you're close to maxing out your drives probably. So, gross might not be your biggest issue.

    I've done it before. It's not fun. Splash of fuel, pass a scale, splash of fuel, pass a scale. It's tedious, annoying, and tiring.

    I've had 3 states let me go at 81k.. but know that was probably not the norm. I've also had the same state fine me for 380 over on driver while under gross. Figured no coop would mind 100 over.

    I don't know where you're coming from in Florida but here's a list of the scales from FL to NJ. In Florida you have them (on 95) at the 285 and the 380. In Georgia it's the 52. South Carolina at the Georgia line. North Carolina At the 24 and 151. Virginia at the 40 and 153. Maryland at the 91 (at the toll booths)

    There's a TA in richmond hills ga ex 87 between the GA scales and the scales at the sc line. There's a TA in manning sc at the 122. There's a petro in kenly nc at the 106 between the two nc scales and a pilot at the 180 (basically the nc va line) between the second nc scale and the first va scale. There's a fj at the 104 in Ruther glen va between the 2 va scales. There's a TA exit 41a in jessup md and a TA exit 57 in Baltimore md. Those are before the scale in md there is a Pilot ex 93 in perryville md after your last set of scales where you can fill up if you wish. Good luck.

    Thanks.. you outlined the day I planned. I ll be about 60 pounds over when I hit the second NC coop. Should make it to the Ruther Glen which will get me past the MD coop. Gonna top off at that Pilot. All three of those states let me roll at 81000 two years ago.. only Florida wrote me up.

    Sounds like it time to clean your truck out of anything you can do without. Seriously when are you due to unload, Monday?

    Take a 34 tonight and tom. and then run the weekend nights. JMHO
