I’ve come across another A2A from a 4MG and I bought it but thought it may be of some significance on my 7FB. Is there any advantage? Does turbo stay the same or need to change?
Compressor outlet is different on a turbo for a JWAC versus an A2A setup, but you can pretty easily fab an adapter.
On an 855 Cummins it makes a huge difference in torque and egts I can’t imagine it would be different on a cat….they’re both similar engines. I’ve heard that a 400 jwac cat has the same fuel rate as a 425 a to a but never looked into it. As far parts it would probably be advantageous to use an air to air style intake manifold and obviously you would need the rest of the plumbing which would probably be reasonably easy to adapt from a similar truck. I don’t see why the turbo would need to be changed unless you can’t manage to connect it to the new system.
I apologize but I failed to mention that I had an A2A intake manifold, from a core and planned to use it. I gotta get in the 7FB and do some work around nozzle jumper lines/fittings (I’m probably calling it wrong) and thought that’d be a good time to attempt this.
Those little turds can be quite frustrating. Seems like the stamped steel keeper often fails to properly hold the pass through piece
