Think the car hauling side got bought out by United road services. Have a driver that lives 5mins from me see his truck all the time he use to do enclosed now has the reg car hauler. But notice like 4-5months ago his truck now said United road services

Question. Fresh out of school. Do they take new CDL drivers?
If so, how long is their training period? (BTC's)

Sorry, sir. You have to have at least three months experience OTR before we can hire you. We only train drivers experienced in trailers other than flatbed.

    Nick2001 Thanks this.

That's too bad. Sorry to hear that. Do you mean to say if a person had 1 to 3 years experience in flat beds only that they would not hire them?

Nope. Just need 3 mos. experience. If your experience is not in flatbeds, you'll go with a trainer for real world load securement and spread axle handling before we cut you loose on your own. Prior flatbed experience generally means you go straight to first seat solo. I came on with six months of flatbed experience and years of dry van. Because of the prior flatbed experience, I went straight to my own truck, no trainer needed. Another guy I talked to had prior driving experience as well, but it was all in dry van. He got a trainer for a few weeks ( can't remember how many off hand).
