I run normally between 2400 and 3000 mile a week with anywhere from 5 to 10 stops from that one load dropping some here some there. All the places I deliver to runs business hours of 9 to 5 so there are times when I only get to actually drive for 6 hours is the reason I asked this question. Thanks guys

The 8/2 split can be [somewhat] beneficial for some in certain circumstances but it's hardly the type of "flexibility" that I hope the HOS rules will allow again at some point in the not-too-distant future.

Voice your concerns to your congressman or to the FMCSA that we need a much more flexible rest schedule than the current 8/2 or 10, take it or leave it BS we currently have.

While you're at it. Tell them to do away with the stupid 60/7 and 70/8 limits that currently exist. What does what I did 7 days ago have to do with what I can do tomorrow in terms of "safety"? [as an OTR driver who stays out long periods]

Oh Tim Scott and Lindsey Graham office has heard from me I actually got to talk to Tim Scott before. Between me and my dad and both my brothers we have aggravated both of them officers LOL. I have an OTR for 12 years and a lot of it just does not make any sense to me.

That won't do you any good. Congress makes laws. The law is we have to follow the "rules" imposed by the FMCSA. This way they can shine you on and pretend they care but ultimately it is out of their hands.
