Whats your average cruise speed?
I get same numbers with my 06 detroit stock engine, by driving 55. Last week I got 7.8mpg from Yuma to Ft.Worth with 27k in the box

 

Is this 42-44k in the box or gross? Im guessing in the box and that is awesome though! I just dont like the decrease in reliability of the egr motors.

 

I like to read threads like this with posters that are serious about getting better fuel mileage to make more money.....

That's right around the 2010 peterbilt 386 with a cummins ISX 450ST I used to drive, governed at 62mph bone stock. Actually, it did 10.2 empty, and 8.5 at 80k. DPF and EGR motors aren't all that bad if you aren't drag racing all day. I would have loved to have seen what that pete could have done with a bit of tinkering.
