And you do not get to have a say in what the "on time" time is? If it looks like it would be a tight run, I say when it will be there. That way, even if a slow down here or there or whatever, I make the "on time". Many times, I will allow the consignee to determine when they want it. But if it is going to put unnecessary pressure on me, then they do not get to set the time. We have to reach an understanding. Or, worse case, their load does not make it onto my wagon. We can either be adults and work out a solution, or the consignee can be a child with no freight on their dock. I guess that is why the EOBR has not had a real detrimental effect on me. I wasn't allowing this nonsense to go on before the EOBR, so it was a fairly smooth switch over.

Un-huh . I believe you might have the wrong impression, or else decided to take that particular partial statement out of context.
I really don't care , either way , but I will lay two facts on you.
    1. There is always enough time , on these runs , to do it legally , PLUS a few hours buffer.
    2. If I'm on time , and the consignee holds me over the two hours allotted , I DO get Demerrage , at $60.00 plus an hour.
And ,here's a three for you. Shipper gets 2 hours , then is charged the same .
    I always get paid .

I believe it. All you have to say is 12.7/500 HP. Had a W9 back in the 90s that had that 500 Detroit and a Super10 that got 7 mpg at over 75 mph. That old school 500 was a hot motor. Pulled good through the entire rpm band, turbo whistle was so loud it would give you a headache, and still get great fuel economy.

EGR killed mileage , then DPF kicked it in the teeth. Would love to see where we could have been ? Cleaned up the amount of emissions per gallon burned but burning almost twice as much? Thanks goberment!

Your comments seem to suggest that no one else has it like you do. I always get paid detention after 2 also when I get held up. One time, I was able to take a full 10 hr break because they could not get to me, and I got paid, best I recall, right at $400 for sleeping. They got the first two hours for free also. I may not get the $60 you do per hour, but it is still tolerable. Sure isn't no poverty $25 and hour or something. But, I am not sure how your answer addressed the question I posed. I believe we were talking about how the EOBR would make it to where you couldn't make the times and I believe I asked why you do not have input in on what the "on time" time would be. Now you say there is always enough time, legally, to do the run with a buffer thrown in. I must be missing something here. If you have enough time, then how would an EOBR have any kind of negative effect? And if you don't care one way or the other, why are you even taking a position about EOBR's in your previous post? And if it had to do with some ill conceived idea that it will tattle on you running fast, not sure how that is an issue. I have "put a wiggle in it" several times and tried to break that sound barrier with my truck, and no one has ever given a rip. The Qualcomm sure didn't squawk and neither did the carrier.

and your comment , that I responded to , suggested that your attitude was ," piss on the consignee, he'll get when I want to get it there".
we are in a service business. " how may I help you " is a prerequisite.
as for the rest , I won't bother to respond.
And, our comments are not germane to the topic, as sometimes happens.
