Hi guys,
So I had a quick question here, I found a school in LA that offers weekend classes. The school is opened from 7am-4pm Sat and Sun. However, I asked the receptionist about the school and she said it was $3070 for 80 hours, which is divided into 8-16 weeks, roughly 2-3 months. The classes only run for about 3 hours, so they have a class from 7-10, 10-1 and 1-4. What do you guys think about this school? is 80 hours enough training? I know some schools only lasts about 4 weeks and some people i know from there said it wasn't enough time but others said they just want to work ASAP. I can only attend weekend classes since I work Mon-Fri 8-5 pm. They got some decent ratings on yelp and google review, mainly 5 stars rating, I haven't encountered any 1-4 star rating which is a good sign. The school is Edison truck driving school in south el monte. The receptionist was very nice which was a positive sign and she explained everything I asked her, such as if they provide a truck for the DMV test, how many tries you get (Eg: if you fail the driving test twice you have to pay an extra $200 to bring the truck each time, you get unlimited courses after the 2-3 month time frame). I research a lot of schools but only this school works with my time frame and has the best ratings in my opinion. I wanted to go to California truck driving academy or dynasty truck driving school but they don't offer weekends.
80 hour truck driving schools, is it enough time?

Contact some companies and ask if they'll hire from that school.
Did she name any companies that hire from there?
Contact KKW Trucking and Western Express and ask if they hire from that school.
Melton Truck Lines has an ad that if you have a cdl-a and no experience, they have a training program for you.
Check those 3 companies:

0-2 Months’ Experience
Our trainee program is designed specifically for drivers who have a valid CDL-A but have little to no experience. Our full training program includes 1 week in a classroom, 1 week with a local trainer, and 2 weeks with an OTR trainer. Trainees can expect to be routed home once they have successfully completed the 4 week program.
Trainees receive $450/week payments. For the 6 months after your training, you will frequently check in with a mentor in the training department to help ensure your success.
To qualify you must have obtained your CDL in the past 90 days and have your certificate of completion. You also cannot have any moving violations, accidents/incidences or warnings in a CMV. -
If you want to stay local, pretty sure Cemak Trucking and Robertson's Ready Mix will hire from that school. Both companies do the same type work.

Fontana; that must be Swift or CRST.
CRST has the shortest contract.
160 hr. school is best, but some companies have finishing programs for drivers with the shorter schools, such as the 80 hr. school.
Probably decide if you want to drive for Swift, CRST or the others I listed. -
