Now you can get a good paying load out of Minot if you hit it at the right time. Guy up there owns a truck and trailer dealer and uses indepenedents sometimes to deliever stuff. Doesn't pay the best usually about 2.00-2.50/mile going anywhere in the country but it's better than deadheading over to WI, or MN. I hate those two states in the winter. But I love the people in WI. Always been pretty good to me up there.

My goal: 1.20 for all miles AFTER FUEL cost. Maintence .15. Fixed cost .07. So far 1/4 2013 1.14. Will continue to work for the goal. We should do 120 K mile this year. An ignorant nation will never be free! TJ

I've done two loads to North Dakota, but that's only because we were guaranteed loads back. I ran plastic rolls up to Williston from Sioux Falls, and then I took three skid loaders to Oklahoma. And I ran a load from Southwire in Illinois up to Fargo, but the loads available were crap... it was either crushed cars going to Denver (which meant I could go home) or hay to Oklahoma. The boss man wanted to get me home because I was due for home time. I took the hay and stayed out a couple more weeks.
If I owned a truck running OTR, there's no way in hell I'd run to North Dakota without knowing for sure I had something lined up to get me back, and something worthwhile. We got lucky with the skid loaders, but even then, the pay was decent, but nothing phenomenal. Hay doesn't pay worth a ####, but the next few loads did help make up for it.
