I believe I use regular 50 weight oil in trucks with 8LL's and mobil synthetic 50 weight in the ones with 18 speeds. I would have to double check to be sure, but I know on the side of the bucket it says they are intended for use in heavy truck transmissions.
Maybe try to find a copy of the 8 spd roadrangers owners manual on line just to be sure.

    Floyd is correct.

SAE 50 transmission fluid is what the Eaton website says.

1" of housing = about 1 gallon. Make sure it comes out the hole and not a little shy.

So a 5 gallon of SAE 50 should do it?

Yes, a 5 gallon bucket will do it.
