Not only that, Common Rail engines really need good fuel, typical Volvo D13 needs to get new Injectors every 400-500k miles in my country.
Right now we ordered 1000 l of Russian Diesel (264 gallons) for 1.29 $ per Gallon. Just for try in our day to day use. The bulletproof 1.9 VW TDi (we've got two of them) will run easily on it, but I doubt that, using it in Iveco Common Rail engine is good idea
They even claim, that in winter you shouldn't at gasoline to it, but special additives to fuel.

I have been led to believe that the clogging of the filters will go away once the fuel system has been purged of the "film" left by the normal diesel.

or it is 1.29$/L
my 1.9tdi get only on euro5 diesel -
Yeah, my mistake, 1.29$ per L. So it's around 4.7 $ per US gallon. 6.4 $ if you want to fill it in typical fuel station.

It does, my first filter clogged after about 3,300 miles of running 20% bio last year, after about another 10K miles it was feeling weak so I changed them again and didn't have anymore trouble the rest of the summer. -
